In Vol. 46, No. 4, p. 1797, Figure 5, an error was discovered in the calculation of ferulate-to-arabinose molar ratios for cell wall material of maize stem internodes reported by Jung and Casler (2006). Because the same incorrect molecular weight was used in all calculations, the error did not affect statistical comparisons or study conclusions. The corrected figure is shown below. Concentrations of ester- and ether-linked ferulates (a) and molar ratios of arabinose-to-xylose (Ara:Xyl) and total ferulates-to-arabinose (FA:Ara) (b) in the cell wall of the fourth elongated internode above ground level. Data were averaged across three maize hybrids and two years, sampled on 10 dates during development. The arrow located between the fifth and sixth sampling dates represents the approximate time when elongation of the internodes ceased. LSD, least significant difference (P < 0.05).
