Skin dosages in radiation‐sparing techniques for the laboratory and field

Skin dosages of penetrating radiation from representative extremity, chest and soft tissue techniques suitable for field investigation with portable radiographic equipment ranged from 2 to 17 milliroentgens for screen techniques and 8 to 43 mr for non‐screen techniques. This may be contrasted with the 100–300 mr yearly natural background total body radiation at sea level and 6000 feet respectively.
