Laboratory experiments have been conducted to determine the effect of a nonionic surfactant (Aqua‐Gro) mixed with three soil conditioners, asphalt emulsion and two polymer solutions (polyacrylamide and polyvinylalcohol) on the infiltration rate in sand and silt loam. One can conclude that the effect of surfactant in a mixture with different soil conditioners is variable depending on whether the soil conditioner itself increases or decreases the infiltration rate.
