Simulation study demonstrates up to 83% micro-vibration peak reduction in inter-satellite optical communication systems, indicating substantially improved pointing stability.
Micro-vibrations induced by external perturbations and structural resonances of the satellite platform cause pointing errors, significantly compromising the stability and reliability of inter-satellite wireless optical communication (IsOWC) systems. To effectively preserve the performance of IsOWC systems, we propose a compound control scheme that integrates predictive feedforward compensation based on a convolutional long short-term memory (CNN-LSTM) network with a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. Specifically, the proposed scheme employs a CNN-LSTM network to predict micro-vibration signals for feedforward compensation, and a PID control is incorporated to further enhance the micro-vibration suppression capability of the IsOWC system. Compared to traditional PID-based suppression, the proposed scheme reduces the vibration peak amplitude by up to 83%, significantly enhancing the stability and communication performance of IsOWC systems.
