An atomic-beam resonance spectrophotometer has been used with the McMath solar telescope to observe the 300-sec oscillation of velocity in photospheric granules. The Sr 4607 line profile periodically changes between a symmetric profile at the expected wavelength and an asymmetric one shifted to the violet.
