The heteroaromatic anion lithium N, N -diisopropyl-3-amino-1,3-thiaborolide ( 5 ) has been prepared by a multistep synthesis and has been converted to Cp*Ru complex 7 and Cp*ZrCl 2 complex 8 . On activation by excess methylaluminoxane (MAO), a solution of 8 is an active catalyst toward the polymerization of ethylene.
