It is shown that in the presence of an oblique magnetic field the effective secondary-electron emission coefficient (γeff) depends crucially on the initial energy of the emitted electrons. If the initial energy is zero then γeff = γ0, were γ0 is the secondary-electron emission coefficient in the absence of the magnetic field. Wit increasing initial energy γeff decreases.
