We studied the pressure-induced amorphization of tetrahydrofuran clathrate hydrate experimentally. The tetrahydrofuran clathrate hydrate rapidly densifies at 770.3em0exK and ~1.30.3em0exGPa. The densified sample is then heated to 1500.3em0exK at 1.50.3em0exGPa, and recovered at 10.3em0exbar and 770.3em0exK. Its x-ray and Raman measurements show that the densified sample is amorphous. The molecular arrangement of water in this sample appears to be similar to that in high-density amorphous ice.
