The novel ansa -yttrocene complex [(η 5 -C 9 H 5 -2-Me) 2 SiMe 2 ]Y[N(SiHMe 2 ) 2 ], derived from a linked bis(indenyl) ligand, has been prepared by an amine elimination reaction. Utilization of Y[N(SiHMe 2 ) 2 ] 3 (THF) 2 as a sterically flexible amide precursor ensures a high-yield synthesis, favorable solubility behavior, and the formation of two β-Si−H agostically fused metallacycles.
