In transverse electron focusing experiments in Ag an asymmetry is observed in the effect of a positive or negative emitter current on the position and height of the focusing peak. A simplified calculation shows that both effects may be explained qualitatively by the influence of the magnetic field of the emitter current on the orbits of the injected electrons.
