Erythromycin has recently been reported to improve gastric emptying in patients with gastroparesis associated with diabetes mellitus and progressive systemic sclerosis (3, 4). We report the case of a diabetic patient on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis in whom intraperitoneal administration of erythromycin was effective in relieving vomiting from gastroparesis.A 41-year-old woman developed end-stage renal disease secondary to diabetic nephropathy and had been on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis since July 1988. She has had insulin-dependent...References1. TomomasaKuroumeAraiWakabayashiItoh TTHKZ. Erythromycin induces migrating motor complex in human gastrointestinal tract. Dig Dis Sei. 1986;31:157-61.
