The distribution coefficients of Nb/sup 95/ between hydrochloric acid and tribenzylamine were investigated. Discussion is given on the mechanism of amine extraction and the species of Nb in hydrochloric acid. The formation of niobium chlorocomplexes is promoted as the temperature increases, but dehydroxylation may occur simultaneously.
