The diffusion coefficient, the heat of transport, and the solubility limit of H in V were determined by resistance measurements. The experiments were performed below room temperature and with H concentrations up to 1.29 at%. For the diffusion coefficient the very low activation energy of (0.040 ± 0.005) eV was found. The heat of transport is (0.017 ± ± 0.003) eV. The solubility limit, measured between 120 and 270 K, can be described with a precipitation enthalpy of (0.13 ± 0.01) eV.
