In recent years greater recognition of this disease as a generalized muscular disorder has come about because of reports of significant cardiopulmonary changes (1). These changes have been found prior to clinically evident skeletal myotonia in some instances (2). That smooth muscle may be affected has not been widely appreciated, and associated functional alteration of viscera has been overlooked as a source of symptoms in this disorder.METHODSWe studied seven males and five females who had clinical evidence of...References1.
