The specific heat of a germanium whisker has been measured by an ac heating method and found to increase smoothly from 0.325 J/g°K at 350°C to 0.345 J/g°K at 650°C. This result agrees closely with Greiner's values and disagrees with those of Gerlich, Abeles, and Miller. Apparent sources of the discrepancy are discussed.
