We report here the first measurement of tritium vibrations in a metal. Neutron spectra for tritium in niobium are compared with results for niobium deuteride and hydride in the same (β) crystal phase to reveal deviations from a √M dependence, reflecting the anharmonicity of the potential. Vibration peaks are also observed for dilute H and O impurities in the niobium sample.
