Self-diffusion in liquid tin has been measured by the capillary-reservoir technique covering a temperature range of over 700°C. Considerable deviation of the data from linearity on a log D versus 1/T plot was found which is of the general type predicted on the basis of a fluctuation theory proposed by one of the authors. The curvature is believed to be significant in view of the effort which was made to minimize the problem of convection at the high temperatures. The low-temperature data are found to be in agreement with the results obtained by Careri et al. which were obtained by a somewhat different experimental technique.
