Basis sets of equally spaced Gaussian functions are used to obtain diatomic Morse and harmonic-oscillator wavefunctions for CH and CN species. These functions are then used to obtain energy levels and eigen-functions for model linear HCN and CH2 species with both harmonic and Morse potentials for two internal coordinates.
