Primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the uterine body is an extremely rare and aggressive tumor with poor prognosis despite surgery and chemotherapy.
Documents rapid fatal progression in rare uterine MFH despite surgery and chemotherapy; leaves open need for effective therapies.
An extremely rare case of primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the uterine body was presented. The patient was a 61‐year‐old woman with deep uterine myometrial invasion and had pulmonary multiple metastases 5 months after total abdominal hysterectomy, and despite intensive chemotherapy died 11 months after diagnosis. Light and electron microscopic observations revealed a tumor composed of characteristic fibroblast‐like and histiocyte‐like cells compatible with the malignant fibrous histiocytoma reported previously.
