An axisymmetric finite element model of a restored lower molar was used to examine the effect of interface parameter changes on the stresses within the restored tooth. The resulting principal and equivalent stresses and displacements were evaluated and plotted throughout the model. It was found that changes in amalgam-tooth interface parameters resulted in noticeable changes in the stress distribution.
