Qualitative analysis reveals compounded domestic and career pressures in working women, indicating the enduring burden of traditional gender expectations.
The responsibilities and the role of the women in a household are expected to align with social expectations where they are expected to be limited to a domestic life. With modern women breaking these barriers, the traditional caregiver has evolved to a superwoman who is expected to manage both her domestic and professional responsibilities. These expectations increase the pressure for the modern women, who go above and beyond to break through the traditional gender roles and strive to skilfully meet all their responsibilities during their day. This paper looks at the burden of social expectation and challenges faced by working women.
