The magnetic susceptibility of the new compound (Glycine) 2 MnCl 4 has been measured as a function of temperature and magnetic field. The dielectric permittivity and electric conductivity were measured as a function of temperature and frequency. The results indicate the existence of a structural phase transition at ≃ 345 K. Above that temperature the compound's conductivity becomes metallic-like and its magnetic susceptibility points to the formation of dimers.
