Transmission electron microscopy revealed deformation twinning of vanadium pentoxide in partly reduced thin crystals. The twinning elements, determined from selected area diffraction patterns and micrographs, are K1 = (310), K2 = (310), η1 = [130], η2 = [130]. The relation between these twinning elements and the lattice strain introduced by the reduced oxides is discussed.
