Summary Weresub, Malloch and Pirozynski's proposal to delete the existing third paragraph of Article 59 to make it more in accord with other parts of the Code is considered. It is concluded that this would not be in the best interests of the stability of nomenclature in the fungi and consequently recommended that it be rejected by the next International Botanical Congress.
