PURPOSE To present information on the use of a performance-based model to choose appropriate wound care dressings. TARGET AUDIENCE This CME/CE activity is intended for physicians and nurses with an interest in choosing appropriate wound care dressings for their patients. LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to: 1. Discuss key factors involved in understanding the types, functions, and limitations of various wound dressings. 2. Outline an assessment procedure for choosing an appropriate wound care dressing. 3. Compare and contrast at least 4 wound dressing materials.
