We study the Higgs sector of the standard model for a large but finite Higgs-boson mass. We unitarize the scattering amplitudes for longitudinal gauge bosons using a prescription given by Brown and Goble that introduces scalar and vector resonances. The masses of these resonances are analyzed as a function of the Higgs-boson mass and their effects in proton-proton colliders are discussed.
