However, 5 cases of ureteropelvic junction obstruction are presented, which document acquired obstruction in adults who previously had normal pyelograms. The etiology of this development is unclear. This report emphasizes the importance of continued followup and the need for periodic re-evaluation of patients with unexplained urinary symptoms or persistent flank pain, even when the initial pyelograms are normal © 1979 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byRosen S, Peters C, Chevalier R and Huang W (2018) The Kidney in Congenital Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction: A Spectrum From Normal to NephrectomyJournal of Urology, VOL. 179, NO. 4, (1257-1263), Online publication date: 1-Apr-2008.JARRETT T, CHAN D, CHARAMBURA T, FUGITA O and KAVOUSSI L (2018) LAPAROSCOPIC PYELOPLASTY: THE FIRST 100 CASESJournal of Urology, VOL. 167, NO. 3, (1253-1256), Online publication date: 1-Mar-2002.Hinman F, Oppenheimer R and Katz I (2018) Accelerated Obstruction at the Ureteropelvic Junction in AdultsJournal of Urology, VOL. 129, NO. 4, (812-815), Online publication date: 1-Apr-1983.Thorup J, Pedersen P and Clausen N (2018) Benign Ureteral Polyp as a Cause of Intermittent Hydronephrosis in a ChildJournal of Urology, VOL. 126, NO. 6, (796-797), Online publication date: 1-Dec-1981.Mcalister W, Manley C and Siegel M (2018) Asymptomatic Progression of Partial Ureteropelvic Obstruction in ChildrenJournal of Urology, VOL. 123, NO. 2, (267-269), Online publication date: 1-Feb-1980.
