Large lamellar morphological CdS crystals with nanometer-sized thickness were synthesized using the complex templates of poly(styrenesulfonate sodium) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide at room temperature. The final sample exhibits a high stability after removal of the templates. The synthesized materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction.
