Optical absorption, phototransferred thermoluminescence (PTTL), and thermoluminescence (TL) measurements are performed on LiF TLD phosphor after γ-irradiation and thermal annealing. The TL peak at 400°C and the absorption band at 220 nm are observed to be correlated. The TCLC model which was presented earlier is refined by relating the complex centre (TCLC) and the trap centre (TC) to the absorption bands at 137 and 220 nm, respectively. It is shown that the centres responsible for the 310 nm absorption cannot be formed from those responsible for the 220 nm absorption by γ-irradiation.
