The X-ray diffracted intensities of molten CaF 2 and BaCl 2 and the partial structure factors of BaCl 2 are calculated using the mean spherical approximation (MSA) and compared with experiment. A procedure to choose the ionic diameters is also illustrated and results compared with previous work on molten alkali halides.
