The wavelengths and energies of Mo L 1 , L 2 and L 3 absorption limits have been measured with a curved quartz crystal spectrometer, and it has been found that the values given by previous researchers are considerably in error. A white line has been observed at the L 1 absorption discontinuity, for the first time in the case of transition elements in the metallic state, as well as white lines for the L 2 and L 3 absorption discontinuities. The transitions corresponding to the absorption limits and the white lines are discussed.
