A series of five diamines were polycondensed with five imide‐dicarboxylic acid chlorides which are characterized by the presence of methylenic linkages in their molecule, and differ from each other in the number of methylene groups. All the polycondensations were carried out under the same conditions in solution of N,N‐dimethyl‐acetamide at low temperature. Twenty five different polyamide‐imides were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. Some properties as solubility, thermal stability, crystallinity, and electrical properties were also investigated.
