For a recently proposed new linearization method of the two‐parameter penultimate model (monomer M2 does not homopolymerize, i.e. r2 = 0), an estimation of confidence intervals for both parameters r1 and r1′ is presented. A procedure of minimizing the experimental error in both parameters was developed according to statistical planning of experiments. In analogy to the already existing procedure of planning (classical model) an “efficiency factor” of planning, Q, was introduced, which makes it possible to estimate the quality of planning for a given series of copolymerization experiments.
