Summary. Three cases of aplastic anaemia, one of Fanconi's anaemia and one of a myeloproliferative disorder responded to therapy with oxymetholone. Seven cases of chronic renal failure and one of refractory sideroblastic anaemia were treated without success. Oxymetholone appears to be effective in those diseases which have a high level of erythropoietin but not in the anaemia of chronic renal failure.
