New ketone-type polymeric ferroelectric liquid crystals are synthesized and their electro-optical effects are investigated. Typical spontaneous polarization is 30 nC/cm2 at 10 °C below their transition temperature of SA to Sc* (53 °C), and their response time is 33 ms. Even in a thick cell, they also have a memory effect above 99%.
