The advantageous use of neutron diffraction for the determination of biological structures is discussed. Differences between × ray and neutron diffraction are used to obtain structural information on membranes. The 2.0 Å neutron diffraction analysis of myoglobin is described stressing the general advantages of neutron diffraction. At the end, a brief description of a novel “data collection” scheme using a “Laue” type technique is given.
