We report the preparation of highly grain-aligned and densified [Ca 2 CoO 3-δ ] 0.62 CoO 2 bulks and their high thermoelectric performance. The highly c -axis aligned ( F =0.94) and densified samples with low resistivity at room temperature (∼5 mΩ·cm) were obtained by the combination of magnetic alignment and spark-plasma-sintering (SPS) methods. Resistivity ρ and Seebeck coefficient S along the a b plane were systematically changed with oxygen content and, consequently, a power factor (= S 2 /ρ) was enhanced up to 3.5 × 10 -6 W·cm -1 ·K -2 at 300 K for the sample annealed at 500°C in air.
