Using the straightforward Runge-Kutta procedure, the critical Reynolds number for the Orr-Sommerfeld equation has been obtained. The number is 2772.225. The corresponding wavenumber is 1.0205. These values also substantiate the accuracy of the Chebyshev polynomial expansion carried out by Orszag.
