It is all too common for large, comprehensive textbooks, because of their scope and size, to inadequately cover many subjects and to become somewhat outdated soon after publication. The purpose of this addendum to the second edition ofDermatology in General Medicineis to remedy this situation by providing more detailed discussions of certain diseases that were incompletely presented, as well as cover new topics that were previously omitted. In addition, an update on knowledge regarding specific topics in basic science, clinical disease, and therapy serves to make the reader aware of recent progress in dermatology. The text is 237 pages and is divided into 17 chapters written by 28 contributors. As in the parent text, this volume has a good blend of both basic science and clinical material.
