A toxin, designated Fvrr has been isolated from the venom of the green mamba Dendroaspis angusticeps by ion exchange chromatography on Amberlite CG-50 and gel filtration on Sephadex G-50.. Toxin FvII consists of 61 amino acid residues, is devoid of phenylalanine and tryptophan, and is cross-linked by four intramolecular disulfide bridges.Immunochemically, toxin FvII is completely distinct from the 61 and 71 amino acid residue neurotoxins and also from the cardiotoxins. The amino acid sequence of toxin Fvrr reveals homology with the neuro-and cardiotoxins.
