In the present study, the formation of sulfur nano sheets on the surface of positively charged carbon nano fiber (CNF) from Na 2 S 3 precursor was investigated, and a two-step mechanism for this reaction was proposed for the first time. An S–CNF–solid electrolyte composite was successfully prepared and employed in an all-solid-state Li–S cell. Full sulfur capacity was obtained when the cell was cycled at 0.1C (0.177 mA cm –2 ), and a sulfur capacity of ∼600 mA h g –1 S was maintained at 1C (1.77 mA cm –2 ).
