We develop a two-parasite, one-host model which accounts for interspecific larval competition in the case of multiparasitism. Stability aspects and competitive exclusion or coexistence are discussed when the negative binomial is used in the model to describe "clumped-attack" distribution. When coexistence occurs in a locally stable interaction, the maximum suppression of the host is considered. Finally, we discuss the place of this model in the development of mathematical models to describe insect population dynamics.
