A survey is given of renal cysts, particularly left-sided, with reference to diagnosis and treatment. Selective renal angiography should always be carried out prior to puncture. Tomography is at times a valuable additional examination. Puncture of the cyst as a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure is discussed.
