Summary. Various redox‐indicators have been tried in determinations of ascorbic acid. Dichloroindophenole seems to be best suited for electrophotometric determinations. A simple but improved electrophotometer is described. Methods for the determination of ascorbic acid in various biological fluids are described. In the serum the determination may be carried out without protein precipitation. In urine substances are present, which contrary to the general conception interfere most in the more acid buffers The best results are obtained with buffers of a pH around 4.5.
