SUMMARY Inclusion bodies of fowlpox virus demonstrated by hematoxylin and eosin, acridine orange, and Giemsa, and by Fuelgen reaction in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded infected chicken embryo chorioallantoic membranes were identifiable by an immunoperoxidase method. Fowlpox virus inclusions stained pale to dark brown when reacted with a peroxidase-labeled fowlpox antibody. Specificity of the reaction was confirmed by blocking with unlabeled fowlpox antiserum.
