The chapter on statistical analysis of tumor markers contains a variety ofstatistical formulas that are of interest primarily to statisticians. There are descriptions of specific serum and tissue markers to breast, prostate, colorectal, and childhoodcancers. Special mention should be made of the chapter on immunohistochemistry applied to neoplasias.Quantitative image analysis is written in a very comprehensive fashion. A considerable portion of the book isdedicated to cytogenetic markers with the various methodologies to detect DNA alterations. This book should be extremely useful as a standard reference for all laboratories of immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and cytogenetics, as well as for medical libraries.
