The measurement and control of pneumatically conveyed solids flow in an impact finishing plant is discussed. Relationships between mass flow, velocity and pressure drop of the shot stream, are given for different air pressure and feed rate settings. A control scheme using a low cost microcomputer for the impact finishing operation is described.
