Three new optical techniques developed to study the process of diffusion in transparent liquids are discussed in this paper. The methods use multiple beam interferometry, Michelson interferometry and fringe projection respectively to determine the diffusion coefficient. The accuracy of these methods is comparable with other experimental methods. Detailed experimental analysis is given.
