Till date, only eight species of Parakiefferiella have been reported from the Oriental region. The proposed new species P. falciforma sp. nov. has been discovered and described from shrub – like vegetation along the eastern fringes of the Chhotanagpur plateau. DNA barcode of the new species has been sequenced and uploaded to NCBI. Additionally, the key to the identification of adult male specimens of the genus is provided.
