Two groups of nuclear soluble proteins, one prepared by direct saline extraction and the other obtained by disengaging DNA-histones, have been examined by column chromatography and starch-gel electrophoresis, and compared with cytoplasmic soluble proteins. Differences in chromatographic pattern, electrophoretic heterogeneity, and isotope incorporation activity among these proteins have been presented and their possible significances discussed.
